Hi, I was wondering if there are any problems with the above model? Or can you suggest something similar, even a hatch. Looking at up to $10k.

The 2003-2007 Caldina is a great car, my only suggestion would be to look at the 1.8ltr or 2.0Turbo engines. The 2.0 FSE engine (same as used in the Avensis) is prone to giving trouble and can expensive to repair.
2005- Corolla Fielder is another good choice.
