Hi. I purchased a vehicle from Global Autos in Auckland who advertised as "AA authorized" dealers. The vehicle was a 2007 N Z new Nissan Murano. A new warrant was issued on the day it was purchased and the dealer even commented on how nice it drove. I paid for the vehicle and hit the motorway south. It was immediately obvious that something was wrong. When in a straight line the steering wheel was at a 45 deg angle and when cornering on a sharp bend it fely all wrong. At over 80 klms it shuddered and made horrible tire noises. I wasn't at all impressed with my whole experience at Global Autos so crawled slowly to Huntly. Here the "toe in" was adjusted and this improved the drive. The staff at Carters said the vehicle was not in a warranted state and one tire was also in an unwarranted condition and the rest were borderline.
I drove home and have had new tires fitted all round.
There were other issues over my purchase that I was not impressed with and am happy to elaborate to you. First I need to ask if you are the right people to complain to or should I go to MTA?
I have been a member of AA for many years and the fact that Global Autos used your name gave me some comfort that they were a reputable dealer.

Hi there,
This dealer is an AA appraised dealer. Which means that they get certain vehicles appraised before advertising to sell. This is a dealer-only inspection and highlights any major faults the dealer needs to remedy before putting on the yard. Had the vehicle been appraised?
Did you get the vehicle inspected, as in pre purchase? This inspection should have highlighted any issues, and informed you of the vehicle condition before you purchased the vehicle.
Have you communicated with the dealer before carring out any repairs? You must give the dealer the first right of repair under the Consumer Guarantees act. If you repair the vehicle without communicating with the dealer first, you have pretty much eliminated them from their responsibility.
If you have a copy of the apraisal or an inspection, please email to aatech@aa.co.nz and we can take a look into it for you.
