I am looking at importing a vehicle from Japan and I've got my eyes set on a 2007 Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon DBA-BP9. It's a standard stock model. Are these cars allowed to be imported into New Zealand under current import rules and pass entry inspection?

The rules for cars coming from Japan, is that the emissions code in the model code must
start with 3 letters. if this is the case then you are good to go. DBA is a common code.

Only the 3 letter ones followed by the dash- are allowed here.
