Hi there,
While I was test driving the skoda rapid, I came across the octavia vrs and have test driven it. Seems like a very nice car but wanted to find out whether there's any known issues. In comparison is the golf gti a better options? Also I'm slightly worry about depreciation as skoda is not really a very well known brand

Skoda product is very good and we really have no concerns with any of their vehicles. Form a technical/engineering perspective, there is really no difference between Skoda and VW, however, as you point out, there's no question that the VW brand carries more value in New Zealand. Therefore whether or not the depreciation will be much different is hard to say, but the VW may appeal to a wider audience so a VW may be easier to sell.
