I'm looking at buying a Toyota Hiace Super Custom 3.0 litre travelled 98000kms.

Are these good, bad or ugly?

These are very good vehicles, one of the best in their class.

We have heard the occasional comments re cracking cylinder heads but a follow up to a Toyota agent would suggest this is a very rare occurrence and in general the engines are extremely reliable.

It is a cam belt driven engine and the belt needs to be replaced at 100,000km.

The cam belt is very easy to replace which reduces labour time dramatically, so no great costs involved there.

Typical Toyota reliability.

Definitely a vehicle to be recommended.
