Hi, I'm considering importing a used toyota estima people mover from japan. To meet the current emission standards, how can I find out which year or engine type is acceptable ? To a layman the designation Euro or US 4 or 5 does not provide understanding to select a model year or engine type. Who could provide the necessary clarification. Thank you

There is no specific year which complies and each vehicle needs to go on its own merits. As a general rule of thumb, 2005+ vehicles are likely to meet the standards but there are no guarantees.
Information is available on the NZTA website, however it can be very difficult to comprehend for the layperson.
