My son is 20, learning to drive since losing his right eye. ACC consider extra mirrors on a vehicle to be adequate. What is your opinion on the vehicles such as Mazda 3 that have automatic blind spot monitoring as a back up to mirrors please? He has had a couple of close calls, I think as a learner driver they have so much to remember that this technology would keep him - and the other person- a lot safer.

Safety features such as blind spot warning, lane departure, reversing cameras & sensors, surround view etc, etc would all be of help, as they wound be for any driver - particularly a young, inexperienced learner.
The new Mazda3 is a very good car and if it's in his price range, would be a good choice.
