The Lafesta has a CVT transmission. These transmissions used by Nissan from this era were known problem areas and can be very expensive to repair.
Thank you very much for replying. It sounds like it is one to keep away from. What people mover would you recommend around 8-10k? We are naturally wanting something reliable and that has a good track record.
The Mazda Premacy and Toyota Ipsum are a couple of popular models which enjoy a good reputation for reliability.
Thanks for your reply, we were wondering what the 2004/2005 Toyota Wishs are like? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/CategoryAttributeSearchResults.aspx?search=1&cid=268&sidebar=1&rptpath=1-268-&5=&14=Toyota&15=wish&18=0&18=0&24=0&24=0&searchRegion=16&sidebarSearch_keypresses=0&sidebarSearch_suggested=0
Thanks for your help once again in advance :)
Yes, but the 1.8 litre model would be the preference for long-term reliability. The 2.0 litre model uses the D4 direct injected engine which can suffer clogging/carbon build-up problems which can necessitate removing the cylinder head to repair.
The 1.8 uses similar running gear to the Corolla which has a great reputation.
