Hi there
We test drove two MR-S's one of which was significantly quieter than the other one. The other one had a whining transmission noise coming from behind - any thoughts on what this might be and if it sounds expensive. To quote the vendor "its been like that since we had it".

Because it has been like that since the vendor has had it doesn't make it normal. You have been fortunate enough to test another vehicle of the same make and model to compare and an abnormal transmission noise will cost a fair bit to repair so it’s best to walk away from the noisy one.
