Hello, We are in the market for a 7 seater vehicle and would prefer an SUV rather than a PeopleMover. We are looking to spend approx. 25 - 30K. There seem to be a few options in that price range and I am a little confused as to which vehicle is best as they all different years, different models, different km, different fuel usage, etc. Which vehicle would you recommend based on value for money? Thanks.

As you say, there's quite a wide selection in this price range, so it really depends on any other requirements you may have, what your annual mileage might be and how much additional space you may require.
If your only requirement is 7 seats and you don't need to tow and don't need anything too big, the Nissan Qashqai is worth a look.
If you want to go up a little in size, The Mitsubishi Outlander, Holden Captiva, Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe are possibilities.
Then, if you need bigger towing capacity, vehicles such as the Toyota Prado would fit the bill.
As a generalisation, the larger the vehicle and the bigger the mileage you do, diesel is the preference due to the torque - hence towing ability and lower depreciation. Large V6 petrol powered SUVs are not popular due to heavy fuel consumption, therefore they depreciate faster.
If you're looking at smaller SUVs and you do a relatively low mileage around town, petrol power is fine, as petrol vehicles are cheaper to service and with smaller vehicles, depreciation of petrol powered vehicles isn't such an issue.
If you have any further questions once you've narrowed your search criteria and decided on all the possible uses this vehicle may be put to, feel free to get back to us.
