Good day.im planning to buy a hatchback im choosing between subaru impreza 2008 and bmw 116i 2004-08 120i 2005 model can you suggest whats the best?the pros and the cons??and if the small engine will be a big problem going uphill?? fuel consumption?? and which car can be sell easily planning to sell it after 3 years.thanks!

These are two completely different vehicles (AWD vs 2WD). We will need more information as you don't state which Impreza you are considering. For example; the Impreza WRX will be the better performance option than a 116i, but the 116i uses a lot less fuel.

The Subaru 1.5L isn't a powerful vehicle and there is the choice of either a FWD or AWD with a four-speed automatic/five-speed manual. The boxer engine has a cambelt which needs replacement at intervals.

The BMW 116i performance isn't great either but it's a slight improvement on the Subaru Impreza 1.5L. The 116i should have a five-speed auto (at least) and it's a rear-wheel drive vehicle and the engine is chain driven so no cambelt to worry about.

The BMW is the better vehicle in this case, but this is understandable as the BMW commands a premium price over the Subaru when new - and you would expect better quality trim materials, well-liked German engineering and build quality.
