Hi, i'm thinking of buying 2005 or up mazda axela and 2006 mazda mpv new shape model. Any positive and negative reviews abou them? Thanks!

The 1.5L Mazda Axela is a bit underpowered but other than that the Mazda 3/Axela and Mazda MPV are good vehicles. If you are looking for something a bit smaller than the MPV you could consider the Mazda Premacy. I suggest you get a pre-purchase inspection carried out before purchase to ensure you are not buying a lemon.

Hi, I am also planning to get an axela soon.
Year range is 2004-2006 and it'll have travelled around 100,000 KM.

I'm stuck now deciding between the 1.5L and 2.0L
The 2.0L in the 2004-2006 does not have VVT-I ....So i don't know what the fuel consumption will be day-to-day.

I drive mainly by myself mon-fri to work.
There's a very hilly road where I park my car but it's not an overly long road.

Would it be near impossible to get the consumption of a max of 9.0L/100KM ..? I live out west + work in Newmarket , so will use the congested northwestern everyday.

Cheers!

The 1.5L feels a bit underpowered and the 2.0L is the better option, especially for hilly terrain. You should manage around 8.0L/100km with the 2.0L in most cases. I suggest that you take a 1.5L and 2.0L out for a drive to see which one you prefer.
