I am looking at up dating my 1996 Prado with a Hyundai Santa Fe R series , are there any known problems with these vehicles and is part time four wheel drive as good as full time for towing ?

The Hyundai Santa Fe R series diesel model has a maximum braked trailer towing capacity of 2,000kg. Performance of 145kW and 436Nm is impressive too. We are not aware of any known problems and they are a popular choice of diesel SUV in New Zealand. The AWD will be good for towing, especially on slippery surfaces, but it's not a serious 4x4 like the Prado, so keep this in mind when selecting a place to launch the boat.
