Hi,
My husband and I are looking at buying a toyota isis, is this a good car? We are currently driving a diesel nissan terrano and im worried about noticing the difference between the petrol prices and diesel prices. Also do we have to run the isis on premium or can it be run on 91?

Thanks for any help

Obviously, this vehicle isn't as large or heavy as a Nissan Terrano, so while it is petrol vs your current vehicle's diesel engine, some of the concerns you have regarding additional fuel consumption will be negated by the reduced weight of the vehicle.
Having said that, the Isis is a Japanese import model and comes with options of 1.8 or 2.0 litre. The 2.0 is likely to be the Toyota D4 engine which has been known to give trouble as the mileage gets a little higher, also I believe some may have the CVT transmission. Therefore, we'd recommend the 1.8 which is a reliable engine and the well proven 4 speed automatic.
The 1.8 will run on 91, the 2.0 D4 should operate on 95 or higher.
