I am looking at buying a 2009 Hyundai i30, imported from Korea. The dealer is AA accredited and the car AA and VINZ certified, serviced etc, and several thousand cheaper than a NZ new version. I have never heard of Korean imports - are they dodgy?

I have never heard of used vehicles being imported from Korea as it is normally difficult to prove the standards they are built to.

If the vehicle has passed a compliance process in New Zealand and it's legal for use on our roads then I cannot see a problem with this.

I strongly advise that you get an AA Pre-Purchase inspection carried out before purchase.

The compliance and WOF inspection is not a vehicle condition check.
