Hi there,

I'm wanting to buy my first car. Something fuel efficient and reliable yet still looks good. I'm currently looking at either a Mazda Demio 2007 (1300cc) or a Mazda Verisa 2008 (1500cc). Is there any big difference between these cars?

There is not much difference between these two vehicles. Dimensionally they are almost identical. The Mazda Demio is available in either 1.3L or 1.5L petrol engines while the Verisa has a 1.5L motor and uses a conventional 4-speed auto. The Mazdas have a good reputation but be aware that the Verisa is also available in 4wd - if you don't need a 4wd then it's best to avoid these versions as it will be more costly to maintain and fuel economy will be higher. The Mazda Verisa and Demio are both good options. The Mazda 2 (also named the Mazda Demio in some markets) has a different design as it doesn't look like a mini-MPV and instead it has a modern hatchback design - it is also worth considering.
