I am looking to buy a 1998 Caldina 123,000 kms. Auto 2000cc 2.0G. I know nothing about Caldinas and would like to know if this is a good model or a lemon. Also what is fuel efficiency like? My last car was a Mitsubishi Legnum - great to drive but everyone always shakes their heads knowingly when I say what I have so am trying to avoid the same mistake this time. Many Thanks.

This is a good model with a great reputation for reliability. Fuel efficiency is OK, probably around 9L/100km in real world conditions - obviously not up there with the most frugal models today, but compares favourably with other cars of its era.
Certainly, a model we'd recommend ahead of the Legnum!
