The 2006 model Mazda 6 with a 2.0L or 2.3L motor (2,3L being the preference for towing) is rated to tow a maximum of 1500kg braked trailer. You should take your boat/trailer with all the gear packed into it and have it weighed at a weigh bridge - it will need to have a braked trailer and the all up weight shouldn’t exceed the 1500kg. Performance wise the 2.3L engine is capable.
