Hi, currently we own a Mitsi Pajero 3.5 V6 auto petrol quad cam 1994. We use it solely for towing 2 horses around. We have been thinking of selling it as it has a bit of corrosion going on around the pipes of the engine. We can't afford anything too new, so thinking of looking at a 1995 3000cc single cam petrol Pajero that has been well serviced etc. Our own one has been an awesome tow vehicle with lots of power and no struggling on hills etc. My question is, by going to a slightly smaller engine with single cam, would it still be a very good tow vehicle? Are there any faults with this model? Also would it be a wee bit cheaper to run than the 3.5? The listing on trade me of the one we are interested in is: Listing #: 649738645 Someone told me that the single cam ones are very quick off the mark but the quad cam have better pulling power? Your advice would be a great help. Thank you!

Regards

Kirsten

The main comment we have here is that you will miss the power of the 3.5. While the 3.0 litre engine may be a little cheaper to run, it does not have the grunt or pulling power of the 3.5.
Basically, reliability is on a par with the 3.5 and as with any old vehicle, it comes down to how well it has been looked after in the past and how well it has been maintained - and it would seem that this one has been fairly well taken care of.
However, it will not be as strong a tow vehicle as your 3.5.
