I would like to replace my VW Jetta with the latest model. To do this I would have to import one from Australia or Singapore/Malaysia. Is it practical and cost effective to do this? Would VW NZ do this for me? What is the position re. tax exemption in the country of purchase, NZ tax, Shipping costs and the use of a shipping agent to arrange everything. Anything else I haven't thought of??.

As you're obviously aware, the Jetta is not a model that's on the VW price list in New Zealand. Having asked the question of VW NZ, unfortunately the model is unavailable to them from their factory, so they cannot source one for you.
