I'm moving back to NZ from the UK and considering shipping back my 2007 Honda CRV 2.2i CTDi EX. It is Manual / Diesel / built-in sat nav/alarm / sunroof / leather trim / 70,000 kms.

I've noticed diesel/manual Honda CRV's don't appear on NZ Autotrader website so wondering if someone could provide an insight on why and if it is worth shipping back to NZ based on relative cost of an equivalent in NZ. Perhaps someone has a view on what a 5 year old CRV would cost in NZ. I suspect I'd get around GBP£11k (NZD20k) for it here.

Thanks if you can help or advise someone who might!

Honda New Zealand seems to avoid bringing diesel models to our market for whatever reason. This is why you won't find diesel CRVs or any other diesel Honda car for sale in NZ unless of course if it was a used import.

The problem you will have is parts will need to be especially ordered for your car which will take a couple of weeks to receive and the mechanics here will not be familiar with the Honda diesel motors.

But having said that it might create some interest and hopefully lead to some new Honda diesel models being launched here - or not. The majority of Kiwi buyers also prefer an automatic transmission instead of the manual gearbox.

To check whether the vehicle meets the necessary requirements for entry compliance in New Zealand you need to e-mail us the copy of the V-5 UK registration document. We will advise you further once we receive this document. E-mail us on aatech@aa.co.nz

A low mileage 2007 Honda CRV petrol will retail for around $20k - $24k in NZ.

Thanks Donavan. I've emailed a photo of the V-5 UK registration document. Look forward to hearing further information!
