Hi

I am currently looking at buying a new wagon and have looked at each of the three cars listed above. Each salesman I speak to has different opinions on reliability etc. While this is to be expected somewhat, what is real and what is just their sales pitch? Do the Mazda Atenza's have rubber engine mount issues that commonly give out an need replacing? Are the mid 2000 Legacy's expensive to maintain? And do the mid 2000 Avensis with the D4 motor's have the same issues as earlier D4 motors? Even when running on 95 octane petrol or higher?

Thanks - all a little confusing. Any help would be appreciated.

This is merely a case of (arguably, unprofessional!) sales people bagging each other's products. Personally, I'd prefer the Atenza (Mazda6) wagon.
Not that we're aware of any engine mount problems, but even if that was an issue, I'd rather replace engine mounts, which once replaced are fixed, than deal with D4 running problems or maintaining an older Subaru wagon.
