Hey guys can you tell me more about the reliability of these cars? I know that the Fit is to be avoided because of the CVT trans but how about the Jazz? I've seen two Nissan Notes and both sellers (private) were adamant that it was a 4speed but on internet searches it looks like these were JDM and only came in a CVT

Confused!

Late in 2008 the New Zealand new Honda Jazz went from the unreliable CVT to a conventional five-speed automatic transmission. The Note is available in CVT and a four-speed auto so you need to be very careful which one you buy. Avoid the CVT models if you can as they do not have a good reputation for reliability. Test drive the vehicles and if you find the transmission flares up (like a slipping clutch) then it will be a CVT - if you are not sure then get a mechanic to check it out.
