I own a 2000 2.4 litre petrol Nissan Presage 8 seater. A dealer told me that these cars suffer from extensive rust problems.

Is this true and how do you rate the Presage compared to other similar cars like the MPV, Oddesy and Previa in economy and relaibility?

I have not heard of these particular vehicles having such a problem. The Odyssey, Mazda and Previa are certainly the more popular if you look at sales figures in NZ but that doesn't make the Nissan a bad vehicle.

In fact it was built to compete with the Mazda, Honda and Toyota in Japan so in many ways they would be very similar.

From what I know and from the people I have spoken to (including Nissan staff), I can't support the dealers comments.

It would be interesting to know what the dealer is basing their comments on.

Are they trying to lower a possible trade in price?
