Hi,

I am looking at purchasing a car (preferably a wagon) and have a couple of options in mind either a Nissan Primera 2001 wagon or a Nissan Avenir 2002 Wagon - what is your opinion on these vehicles? I am looking at a maximum budget of $7000.

I'd steer clear of either of these if they have the CVT transmission. The Nissan CVT from this era was a known weakness and expensive (if not impossible) to repair. I believe some Avenir models have a conventional 4 speed automatic, and these would be fine, as would manual versions of either model.
Other cars you could consider would be the Toyota Caldina or Mazda 626/Capella.
