Hi,
Looking to buy the above vehicle but not sure which model. Considering 2005/2007 2.3lt with 5 speed auto, either "sport" or "Z" which has 18 inch wheels.The other option is 2008 2.5lt, same specs. (I like the seat height option). My question is this, I have heard that the earlier models were quite noisy on the road especially our course chip surfaces and the newer generation was much better, is this the case? I realise that the newer model would probably be better overall, but am wondering what you think. Obviously, the price is also a consideration. I would appreciate your comments.

In some respects, you've answered your own question here. With the new model, there were a number of upgrades, not least being the engine. However, my understanding was that the 2.3 litre engine went through to mid-2009, however, perhaps it came earlier on Japanese domestic market models?
Having said that, both models are very good cars for their time, and obviously, the newer car will be more expensive. The only real criticism was that they're fairly thirsty on fuel, but otherwise (reliability etc), they have a good reputation.
So, go for the newer car if the budget runs to it. If not, the earlier model was also held in high regard.
