Hi we are in the market for a people mover and have narrowed it down to the MPV or Presage. We would want 2004 or newer and have a budget of $10-11,000. Which do you think offers better value for money, and is there anything we need to look out for on either.

Thanking you in advance
:-)

The Mazda MPV and Presage offer almost the same levels of comfort and space. The Nissan Presage has the option of an 8 seater version while the MPV has 7 seats. The 3.5L Presage has a CVT transmission fitted to it which is better to avoid as they can be problematic. The 2.3L Mazda MPV is a good choice.

Hi, how about the Nissan Presage 2004 Highway Star 2.5L compare to 2.3l Mazda MPV 2004?

The 2.5L Presage and 2.3L are both good options - it comes down to personal preference. Both have good reputations.

Hi sorry for not posting sooner. I would say first to drive both and see what you like. I was set on the MPV then drove it and really didn't like it. We have brought a 2006 Nissan presage and just love it. 6 months later and not a bad thing to say about it, just went for its Wof and passed with flying colours.
Things I love:
- The keyless entry and start. I think most Presages have it,worth looking for one that does.
- Built in reversing camera and front left quarter cameras that are part of the stereo. MPV's can have them too but they are an after market thing so the steering wheel controls for the stereo will no longer work.
- The passenger side electric door is fun but the other side is super light to shut also.
- The rear boot glass can open like a hatch if you want to pop your bag of shopping in. Openable from remote and dashboard control.
- Rear seat can be split allowing for safe seating for 3 in the back and a bulky thing in the rear.
- With all seats in action I can still fit a mountain buggy in the boot or a 16" & 12" bike.

It has been a fantastic investment for our family and I would highly recommend it.

Hope this helps.
