Hi,

We are looking to move onto a compact van.
We are eyeing for a Toyota Wish at the moment but would like your opinion on this.
What is the best car with good safety features eg Child seat anchorage (We have babies and want both carseats at the second row.) and those that are reliable with less hidden costs.

Any other model that you would recommend?

Thanks!!

Obviously, these two are direct competitors in the marketplace and both would suit your purpose well. You don't say which years you are looking at, so a couple of things to consider on older versions of either would be the transmission and fuel injection systems.
Beware of early model vehicles with CVT transmissions. CVT's in the early/mid 2000's were known to give trouble and very expensive (and in some cases, uneconomical) to repair.
Some Toyota models from a similar era had a Direct Injection engine known as D4. These were known to cause running problems which could be difficult to repair.
So basically, if you can find either model with a conventional transmission (ie; not CVT) and a Toyota without the D4 engine, either should be fine and it really comes down to personal preference.
Another model you could consider would be the Mazda Premacy.
