Hi... I am thinking of purchasing a brand new Chery J1, however am strugging to find any NZ reviews, all I can find is the Australian review - which does not give it a good safety rating. Can you please advise me if this is a good/safe car to purchase for the price?

I currently drive a Hyundai Getz, how would the two compare.

At this stage, the Chery importers have not made any vehicles available to us (or any other outlet that we're aware of) to be reviewed.
So, having had no first hand experience with the Chery, in the knowledge that it does not enjoy a good safety rating and the fact that the longevity & reliability is yet to be established, we struggle to recommend the Chery at this stage.
The Getz is more well established, has a higher safety rating and enjoys a good reputation for reliability.
