Do 4 wheel cars like a 2.5 subaru ouback chew through tyres quicker than a 2 wheel drive. How many kms do you expect out of a set of tyres comparing 4 wheel drive to 2 wheel drive?

With a front-wheel drive car the wheels on the driven axle will wear quicker than the rear tyres. With a permanent AWD car the front and rear tyres will wear at a similar rate as all the wheels are driven.

You can expect to get more life out of FWD car tyres than a AWD car’s tyres because of this.
