I am soon to return to NZ after living in Saudi Arabia for 15 years where women are not allowed to drive!

I am a single women and need a reliable car - that is I go for that rather then fashion. I am open to a new one or a near new one say 2011 -2012 1 owner etc. It is for getting to and from work and for touring around beautiful NZ when I have the time.

I am looking to a car similar to a Honda Jazz but I am open to suggestions and would appreciate your advice please. I need a very reliable car and a very safe one.

My budget can be up to 25 K.

You should have a look at the 2012 Suzuki Swift 1.4L petrol. It is awarded the maximum five stars for safety (ANCAP test result) and you can buy a new car in this price range. A new vehicle will be the best option as you will benefit from a three year manufacturer warranty and roadside assistance. Another vehicle to consider is Toyota's Yaris 1.3L which also has a good reputation and falls within your budget.
