Hi, I drive 180 km 5 days per week, and am buying a new vehicle soon, I am looking at the petrol Mitsubishi ASX and the Mitsubishi Triton 2WD diesel.
Only 1/3 of the trip is sealed, and have frequent stops. The vehicle has a life of 5 years before being replaced again. All pros and cons would be appreciated. Cheers --- SC

In your case, due to the high mileage you are travelling a year, diesel will be the better option. The ASX will be considerably more comfortable, for the time spent behind the steering wheel, while the Triton with leaf springs fitted at the rear axle will be more rugged off the sealed surface. If the road surface is very rough then the Triton will be a better option as it is better equipped to handle it but if it is a good surface then the ASX will be a better choice. It comes down to personal preference on the type of ride you prefer and the vehicle to match your lifestyle. The UTE might be better for loading big/heavy goods while the SUV will be better for the family.
