Hello, I have seen a really nice car that has a cheaper buy now and shipping price than ones in New Zealand but I am just wondering if you are allowed to import a 1999 or 2000 Toyota Altezza from Japan to New Zealand. The website is tradecarview.com. Cheers :)
No. A 1999 or 2000 year model car will not meet the NZ emission standards and possibly some other standards. You should follow the following link for more info on importing vehicles from Japan. You should consult with the AA before importing any vehicle to New Zealand as you could end up with a car that doesn't meet all the necessary requirements and will only be good for used spares or a boat anchor.
