Hi, i have been looking at a 2006 mercedes a170 that is nz new. Ive been hearing very mixed comments after the a class. Just wanted to see if it is a car to stay clear from. If not, what should i be looking out for?

Ps as far as i know the car ive been looking at does have a full service history and has omly donr 18.5km

The original A class is better forgotten but the second generation resolved some of these problems. The 2006 A170 with a CVT transmission is known to have gearbox failures. You might want to reconsider your options if it is fitted with a CVT transmission. Otherwise the car has an appealing badge with good quality interior trims.
