Mileage 80,000, priced below $10,000, condition good/average.
Long term use (up to 200,000 km).
Same engine and basic chassis as Hyundai Sonata?
Fuel use med to high (10.4l/100) I guess.
Found conflicting reviews on this car, can AA advise any known problems? Is this car due for a cam belt replacement (I will negotiate for this, after AA Mechanical Inspection, if I go ahead).

The 2005 Kia Optima is based on the Hyundai Sonata. Fuel usage is on average around 10.4L/100km which is on the high side and will get worse if you push the throttle pedal to the floor a few too many times. From the information I have the cambelt needs replacing every 90,000km or 6 years whichever comes first. This vehicle needs the cambelt replaced if it has not been done recently. We are not aware of any major problems on these vehicles.
