How reliable are Japanees Car Automatics?
Are there some Makes or Models that should be avoided?

Hi Ross,
That's a very wide-sweeping question, as you can't lump them all together. There are some that are very good and some that you should steer well clear of.
A few to avoid would be Nissan CVT automatics from the late '90's to early/mid 2000's, Honda CVT's prior to about 2009, some conventional Honda automatics from the '90's, some Mitsubishi automatics from the '90's etc.
If you are looking at a particular model and are unsure, don't hesitate to ask again.
