Hello my wife is buying the above car with 47000km.
I know with the 1995 1996 model 2.5 they had big trouble with the head gaskets, Ia this a factor in the later models
And do you know of any other faults with this model

To our knowledge, the later cars were much improved, with upgrades to the radiator and cooling system. However the 2.5 engine was the one that suffered cooling system and overheating problems, so there are no guarantees in this regard.
Having said that, the vehicle you are considering is low mileage, and assuming it's NZ New with a full documented service history, you would be minimising the risk. If it is an import with no known history, it would be a higher risk.
