I am considering buying the above car. I want it to tow a small/medium sized caravan but want to know about whether it would be a good choice

The 2.4lt RAV 4 would be a great choice. It would tow a medium caravan just fine. We would recommend to get an external automatic transmission oil cooler fitted. Towing can put more strain on the automatic which causes the transmission fluid to overheat. If you look after the automatic, it will look after you!
The car has an oil cooler already, but it doesn't really cater for towing. RAV 4's are good models, reliable and comfortable, but the 2.4lt engine can be a bit thirtsy, specially when you push it a bit hard. The fuel consumption Keep the speed down and it is not too bad. Towing a caravan will certainly increase the fuel consumption quite dramatically.
