I'm considering trading in our Toyota Yaris 2007 (3 door) to a similar type of car as we've just had a new baby. I am keen to test drive a Hyundai Getz 2006 (5 door). Our budget is between $12.000-$15.000.
Also on the list are Honda Jazz 2008 and Mitsubishi Colt CVT 2005.
Our Toyota Yaris has only done 46.000 ks. What are your suggestions? Thanks.
I'm assuming the reason you are considering a trade is to swap 3 doors for 5?
The Getz has been a good reliable model so we'd have no problem recommending that. I'd be careful about the Jazz pre- November 1998 (ie; when it changed to the latest model) as the earlier cars were prone to CVT problems that have been very expensive to repair. The Colt also has a CVT, and while we haven't heard of so many CVT issues with the Colt, there weren't so many sold and it would still be an area to beware of.
Have you thought about a 5 door Yaris or Suzuki Swift? They're both popular and enjoy good reputations for reliability.
