Hi there,
We have a young member of the family looking to buy a second hand car with a budget of around $4000. How do you rate the Lancer wagons.? We are looking at a 1998 5 speed manual with low kms and good service record. Also like the pulsar hatch's but in all cases hard to find decent manuals. Cheers.

For your price range I think the Lancer would be a very hard car to beat. I especially like the idea of the manual transmission which in comparison to an automatic is a much safer option and reduces the risk of potential future high repair costs.

A proven service history is also hard to ignore.
