Hello
We need to buy a small hatchback car for family use. It needs to be reliable and cheap to run - mostly city driving. We are considering Toyota Vitz or Corolla, or Honda Fit or Civic - other suggestions welcome. Which of these would be the better buy in terms of reliability, parts and servicing costs?
Where should we start in Auckland, and what should we look for?
Many thanks for your advice

All of the above are OK although I would avoid a Honda Fit and look for a Jazz. The Fit is the used import version of the Jazz and for me a bigger risk especially if it is fitted with a Constant Varaible Transmission.

Add the Suzuki Swift, Mazda2 and Mazda3 to your list.
