My daughter just bought a vehicle from a car dealer and 3 weeks later has realised the vehicles registration had expired prior to the sale. Can they sell it without a current registration?

No, the car should have been sold with a current registration label and a Warrant of Fitness not more than 1 month old.

I'm sure this will be a genuine mistake by the Dealer and they should sort it out very quickly and without fuss.
