I looking to buy a second hand jaguar, possibility a XK/R can you advice if there is likely to be any different in the specification and or build quality for an imported vehicle, and if so whether this should be reflected in a difference in price?

Build quality should be the same while spec levels may differ.

Price goes out the window a little if you really want to buy this particular make/model.

Your priority should be to get the car with a proven and long service history in my view so my mind would tend to go for a NZ new vehicle over a used import.

Suggest you talk to a mechanical business who specialise in these vehicles. They will definitely know any major issues with the used imports and the things to look out for in general.
