I would like some comments on whether I should purchase the 2004 Toyota Camry Ateva (17km; been garaged for the last few years) for ~$20k or should I buy a newer car?
My concern is the year off the car, as it is many years old would I be better off buying a newer car (would probably have better specs/technology) when paying ~$20k or is the Camry still a good deal. I'm not sure how the specs compare between now and then in terms of cost and which is the better option.
My budget is $20k.
Thanks
The Camry sounds reasonable value for money and the Toyota brand does have the reputation for reliability.
They are great vehicles for those looking for a vehicle which simply fits their needs and don't mind the bland and boring tag that these vehicles tend to carry.
Safety is an area where every new vehicle manufacturer has improved on over the years so you would be buying adequate safety features only for a vehicle of this age.
Do some comparisons with a Honda Accord Euro and the Mazda6 would be my recommendation.
Both these vehicles would compete equally with the Toyota but offer a little more wow factor.
