Hi, am thinking of buying a good, low mileage (<30k) Japan import Jaguar sedan, either an X or an S series. From reviews the S seems a better build. Do you agree?

The post 2002 cars are reputed to be better builds. Do you agree?

The X type is based on a Ford Mondeo platform hence the preference for the larger S type for many.

Our understanding is the majority of the X types are 4WD also.

You are best to try and make contact with a Jaguar car club or a garage who specialise in these vehicles to get the real oil to be honest.

Our only advice is to be very careful and don’t assume too much. Whatever model you choose make sure you get it checked out thoroughly especially a used import where the past service history will be an unknown.
