I was at a dealer and the above car was highly recommended to me as a well balanced good value car to consider buying. despite it being a 4L car the consumption is 10.2l per 100km which i thought is recpectable. the car has done 120k and is asking 19k. can you comment on this car and the proposition etc etc.
many thanks

It’s not a bad choice at all especially if you intend towing or travelling long distances.

Fuel consumption may fluctuate depending on where and how the car is been driven but around 10l/100km is definitely achievable.

Price sounds about right also.

many thanks. what do you reckon the consumption would be like for mostly city drive? what are the likely maintenance for a high km car such as this?

Worst case scenario could be around 13l/100km with a cold engine and short runs.

Maintenance is no different than most other mainstream vehicles of a similar age. A service once per year or every 10K whichever comes first is a fairly standard recommendation.

A transmission and cooling system flush along with a new fuel filter are a couple of possible additions to the regular servicing regime you may have to face.

Finding a trusted service provider is the key.

If using as a tow car, change the diff oil and trans fluid every 45k.
