i have been looking at these 2 model, i like the interior space of rx 8 but the engine type is not as reliable and more costly to run compare to mx5. comments? also can you comment on auto vs manual for mx5? which is better? and which generation would be a better buy? up to year 2006. thanks

Yes I agree, while the RX8 is an awesome looking vehicle the engine is definitely unique and not without its own unusual characteristics. Oil consumption is considered normal while cold start flooding and hard starting issues are not uncommon.

The MX5 is a very simple but fun car to own in comparison to the RX8. Manual v auto is really owners choice. Manual would be the preference for many because it is a sports car at the end of the day and owners/drivers love to work the gears when they can.

Buying the latest model your budget will allow is the better option as this model has made advances in safety, performance and efficiency during its life cycle.

thanks, can you please comment on lexus sc430. is it a simple and fun car? is it an expensive car to maintain say compare to european cars? like a mercedes clk ? or a BM ci type?

I like MX5 but am looking for one that is similar in sharing the good points of a mx5 but has a bit more interior space! is there one out there worth considering?
