I have a 2,000 kg trailer yacht and am looking for a vehicle to tow it with. What is best; Kia Sorento, Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger or other?

You don't say what the budget is, so not sure whether you are in the new/near new or used market.

Either way, you tend to pay extra for the Toyota badge if you did go for the Hilux. In return, you do get the reputation for reliability and no doubt good resale value.

The current model Sorento is a far better vehicle than its predecessor however, the older model is a solid unit and towing would be one area it would handle with ease.

The Ford Ranger would do an adequate job as well.

You may have to also think about Diesel v petrol if towing is on a regular basis and you intend towing long distances.

I am looking at low mileage near new and would go diesel. I like the low ratio option that the older Sorento has for slipways or beach launching.

I have been a Toyota man for years but the prices are getting up there now hence the consideration of other options.
