Could you tell me what the 1600cc 4G92 engine in my Lancer is supposed to produce in kW (showroom condition). There is a mention of 125kW on the internet but I don't believe that if the latest 2000cc engine is producing less than that. This Lancer is getting on in years and I wanted to know how many kW this car has got when choosing my next car.

Our technical information is saying this engine produces 175HP which is 130.6kW.

Don't get overly distracted on straight-out power figures.

The modern engine may produce lower power figures, but they can reach and hold their peak at more usable times and in addition often have better torque.

You need to look at the big picture.
