How long on average is it taking to sell a car on line?

We don't have access to these statistics and even if we did, they would need to be separated out between private v Dealer sales to get a better feel for the market.

A lot will depend on the type of car, how many similar examples are also for sale at the same time, the odometer reading and the asking price.

BMW and Subaru have both been good examples in recent years of vehicles which have been fairly hard to sell mainly because of the influx of used imports flooding the market.

A well priced and low mileage Toyota Corolla on the other hand should sell reasonably quickly because of their reputation for straight out reliability and they appeal to those looking for simple A to B transport.

The AA has sold a couple of cars on-line in recent times and the selling times have been between two and four weeks if that helps.
